Tesco Corporate Gift Card Terms and Conditions

  1. Tesco Stores Limited supplies both gift cards (“UK Gift Cards”) and digital gift cards (“UK Digital Gift Cards”) to business customers. UK Gift Cards and UK Digital Gift Cards provided by Tesco Stores Limited will together be referred to herein as “Tesco UK Gift Cards”. Tesco Ireland supplies gift cards (“Ireland Gift Cards”) and digital gift cards (“Ireland Digital Gift Cards”) to business customers. Ireland Gift Cards and Ireland Digital Gift Cards will together be referred to herein as “Tesco Ireland Gift Cards”. Tesco UK Gift Cards and Tesco Ireland Gift Cards will be referred to herein as “Tesco Corporate Gift Cards”.

  2. Payment for Tesco Corporate Gift Cards may be by credit card (excluding American Express), bank transfer or cheque (payable to Tesco Stores Limited or Tesco Ireland Ltd) or on account.

  3. Tesco Corporate Gift Cards can only be purchased by businesses that are registered in the UK or Republic of Ireland and have been approved at registration. Where Tesco Corporate Gift Cards are to be purchased by credit card, the card must have been issued by a UK or ROI bank or financial institution and the cardholder’s statement address must be in the UK or ROI.

  4. Tesco Corporate Gift Cards can be spent in-store (excluding purchases made from Tesco UK petrol stations). Tesco Corporate Gift Cards cannot be spent online.

  5. Tesco Corporate Gift Cards  can only be delivered to a single valid business address within the UK or ROI (excluding Post Office Boxes) and email addresses. Tesco Corporate Gift Cards cannot be collected from Tesco Stores or Tesco Ireland Stores.

  6. Incomplete order forms will not be processed.

  7. Tesco cannot guarantee availability or delivery for bulk purchases.

  8. UK Gift Cards and Ireland Gift Cards will usually be delivered via our 3rd party courier service to the customer within four working days of receipt of payment (usually five working days for our first order). UK Digital Gift Cards and Ireland Digital Gift Cards will usually be delivered within 4 hours of receipt of payment. 

  9. Any discrepancies within a delivery of Tesco Corporate Gift Cards, should be notified to the Tesco For Business customer service team as below:

    Discrepancies must be notified prior to activation of the Tesco Corporate Gift Cards and within 24 hours of receipt or end of next business day (whichever is the later), after which any discrepancies cannot be investigated or remedied.

  10. Where Tesco has any reasonable suspicion of fraud, including but not limited to redemption of Tesco Corporate Gift Cards that have been reported as missing, it reserves the right to take legal action against the customer.

  11. Tesco’s change of mind policy does not apply to gift cards. If you change your mind, they cannot be returned for a refund. Your legal rights are not affected.

  12. UK Gift Cards and Ireland Gift Cards have no value until activated. Details of how to activate the cards will be included in each delivery. UK Digital Gift Cards and Ireland Gift Cards will be activated at the point of ordering. Once activated Tesco Corporate Gift Cards are valuable and should be kept secure until required. Unused Tesco Corporate Gift Cards cannot be returned. 

  13. Balances on Tesco Corporate Gift Cards will expire five years from when the card was activated or from when the card was last used, whichever is the later, unless superseded by a third party promoter’s terms and conditions.

  14. Payment in full must be received in advance for all orders, other than those paid for on account, which must have sufficient credit available and be settled within the agreed payment terms. Failure to settle an account on time will lead to the account being frozen and in some circumstances removed with the customer placed onto debt management. If paying by cheque, please allow up to an additional 10 business days for the cheque to clear before the order can be approved.

  15. Customers applying for a credit account will be subject to a credit check and agree for their information to be passed to a third party for that purpose. The availability of credit accounts is at the discretion of Tesco Stores Limited and can be revoked at any time, on the giving of notice to the customer. Accounts are not available to Tesco Ireland customers.

  16. Settlement terms for all approved accounts is usually 14 days from the date of invoice or any other time as agreed by Tesco Stores Limited, subject to any alternative terms agreed between Tesco Stores Limited and individual customers. Customers may forfeit agreed discounted rates and/or agreed credit account facility for failure to meet these terms.

  17. In the event of insolvency, Tesco will cancel its contract with you and suspend any further Tesco Corporate Gift Card orders from being placed or delivered without any liability to you. Tesco shall also be entitled to de-activate any Tesco Corporate Gift Cards which have not been paid for.

  18. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that Tesco Corporate Gift Cards are declared to HM Revenue & Customs or Irish Tax Institute where required by law. If you have any queries in relation to this, please contact them directly.

  19. Responsibility for the Tesco Corporate Gift Cards passes to the customer at the time of delivery or activation of the cards (whichever is the earlier). Tesco has no liability for lost, stolen or damaged cards, whether or not they have been redeemed.

  20. Title in the Tesco Corporate Gift Cards remains with Tesco until payment has been received in full.

  21. The use by the customer of trademarks or logos of Tesco, or any of its trading companies, is only permitted with the prior written consent of Tesco. Requests for such consent should be sent by email to customerservices@tescoforbusiness.com . Tesco reserves the right to withdraw such consent at any time and for any reason whatsoever, on providing the customer with written notice. The consent will terminate automatically if, in the reasonable opinion of Tesco, the customer has breached these terms and conditions or when the customer has used all of its Tesco Corporate Gift Cards, whichever is the earlier.

  22. Breach of any of these conditions by the customer entitles Tesco to discontinue supply immediately, decline to supply the customer in future and seek any appropriate legal remedy including, but not limited to, damages and / or injunctive relief.

  23. FORCE MAJEURE – Tesco do not guarantee delivery of Tesco Corporate Gift Cards or the performance of any of its obligations to the customer during any period in which it is prevented or hindered from doing so by reason of any cause beyond its reasonable control. This includes but is not limited to: an act of God, war, riot or civil disturbance, strike, lockout or other labour dispute, fire, flood, drought or accident, legislation, requisitioning or other act or order by any government department, council or duly constituted authority, breakdown of plant or machinery (including transport), shortages or unavailability from normal sources of products or of any other cause (whether of the foregoing classes or not) beyond the reasonable control of Tesco .

  24. This contract is governed by the laws of England and Wales and Republic or Ireland and the parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English, Welsh & Irish courts.

  25. Tesco reserves the right to decline to supply Tesco Corporate Gift Cards to any customer recorded on the Tesco Corporate Gift Card Blacklist.

  26. Tesco reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions from time to time.

  27. Tesco shall at all times comply with the terms of the applicable Data Protection and Privacy laws, instruments or regulations in carrying out its obligations under the terms of these Terms and Conditions. Tesco Corporate Gift Cards Blacklist Policy

Any company, partnership, individual or other legal entity (“you”) purchasing Tesco Corporate Gift Cards from Tesco does so subject to this Blacklist Policy.

Industry restrictions

  1. Organisations that fit into one of the following categories are not permitted to purchase and/or use Tesco Corporate Gift Cards:

    1. payday loan companies;

    2. casinos, gambling and online betting companies;

    3. pornography companies;

    4. organisations campaigning on a specific political message;

    5. religious organisations;

    6. organisations that conflict with Tesco’s ethical standards. For example, any companies that have been exposed as employing child labour, or that permit sub-standard working conditions; and

    7. organisations that do not meet the finance restrictions (as set out in section 2 below).

  2. Tesco reserves the right to refuse an order for gift cards from an organisation which, at Tesco’s sole discretion, falls into one or more of the categories listed in clause 1.1.

  3. By placing an order for Tesco Corporate Gift Cards you confirm that:

    1. you do not fall within any of the categories listed in clause 1.1; and

    2. you will not sell the Tesco Corporate Gift Cards to any third parties falling within one or more of the categories listed in clause 1.1.

Restrictions on the promotion of financial services products

  1. You will not make Tesco Corporate Gift Cards available to your clients, customers or any other third parties in connection with the promotion by you or your clients, customers or any other third parties for customer acquisition or retention campaigns of the following products or services:

    1. current account products, credit cards or mortgages;

    2. insurance products including car, home or pet insurance;

    3. mobile phones, pay-as-you-go plans and contract plans;

    4. any other product or service not referred to in paragraph 2.1(a)-(c) which, in the reasonable opinion of Tesco PLC: is similar to a product or service being offered to customers of Tesco PLC; or competes or detracts from Tesco PLC whether by comparative advertising or otherwise 

On-sale of Tesco Gift Cards

  1. If you purchased Tesco Corporate Gift Cards via https://www.tescoforbusiness.com/, you are not allowed to sell the gift cards to any third party without Tesco consent. Nothing in this Blacklist Policy shall vary this term.
