What value do Tesco Gift Cards come in?

You can buy Tesco for Business Gift Cards in a range of denominations from £5 up to £100 on each card.

Do you have to spend it all at once?

No, you can spend some or all of the money on the card. Any balance left on the card gets saved until your next shop and lasts five years.

Do I get Clubcard points when I buy a Tesco Gift Card?

Unfortunately you cannot earn Clubcard points when you buy a Tesco Gift Card.

Does the recipient earn Clubcard points when they use their Tesco Gift Card?

Clubcard customers can use their Clubcard at time of purchase. Points are awarded as normal when you use your Tesco Gift Card to buy goods at the till. They'll earn 1 Clubcard point for every £1 redeemed.

What can I buy with a Tesco Gift Card?

Tesco Gift Cards can be spent in our stores nationwide to purchase a wide range of clothing, homeware, electricals, toys, and gifts.

Can I buy petrol with my Tesco Gift Card?

As of March 26 2018 purchases from Tesco Petrol Stations are excluded. For more information click here

What if the person I give the Tesco Gift Card to is under 18 or does not have a credit or debit card?

They can still use the Tesco Gift Card in store.

Can I get my money back if my Tesco Gift Card is lost or stolen when it is in my possession?

Treat the card like you would any form of cash because you lose the money stored on it if it is lost or stolen.

Does the design of the Tesco Gift Card affect where it can be used?

No, you can use any design of Tesco Gift Card to buy all products in any of the locations described under the gift card Terms & Conditions

Can I use my Tesco Gift Card at a self-scan checkout?

Yes, you can select Tesco Gift Card as a payment option.

What if I have a problem using my Tesco Gift Card in a Tesco store?

Please contact Tesco Customer Service on 0800 50 5555 and choose Option 5.

Is there an expiry date on my gift card/voucher?

Please refer to the relevant gift card/voucher terms and conditions.

Can someone else use my gift card?

Yes, whoever is in possession of the gift card can use it.

Do I have to spend the whole amount in one transaction?

No, any unused balance remains on your card until it is spent or the card expires.

I tried to use the card and the retailer stated there was no value on it or a different value to what was ordered?

All gift cards are dispatched with no funds (inactive), to be activated within 24 hours of dispatch. Please ensure you have allowed 24 hours from the time of purchase and checked your order confirmation email. Further to this, if the funds are still different to purchase or not available, please contact us.

My gift card has expired. What can I do?

Please check the terms and conditions on the back of the card. Terms & conditions will vary by retailer.

What happens if I lose my gift card?

Please treat your gift card as cash as we cannot replace this if lost or stolen.

My gift card has not arrived

Please allow 7 working days from placing your order. If your card has still not arrived, please contact us at customercare@svmglobal.com or on 0345 6000 968. Alternatively, you can write to us at the below address;

If your card has been lost or stolen in the post, we will endeavour to deactivate the card and transfer the balance to a new card which will be sent to you.

What happens if I need a refund from the store when using a gift card, would you be able to refund me for the gift card?

We cannot refund, however in most cases where refund is required, the retailer will refund to the method of payment used for initial purchase e.g. gift card, debit or credit card. Gift cards themselves cannot be refunded in store or online.

My gift card was damaged in the post

I received the package but there was no gift card inside

Please contact us as soon as possible. We will treat as lost/stolen and investigate if the card has been used and send out a replacement free of charge where applicable.

Tesco Corporate Gift Card Petrol Station Exclusion FAQs

From March 26 2018, Tesco will no longer be accepting Tesco Corporate Gift Cards on any purchases from Tesco petrol stations and customers will have to pay using an alternative payment method. This exclusion will include both fuel and purchases made from the kiosk. The cards can still be redeemed in stores.

Will this change affect the Tesco Corporate Gift Cards I already have, and not just cards purchased after March 26 2018?

Yes. This affects all Tesco Corporate Gift Cards – and includes both plastic and digital cards.

What if I try and use my card after March 26?

Your card will be declined at the till and you’ll be asked to use an alternative method of payment.

Can I still use my card in store?

Yes you can.

What about Tesco gift cards I buy instore, or cards received from Tesco?

You can use all other Tesco gift cards in our petrol stations.
